Dysport® made by Medicis (the same drug company that manufactures Resylane and Perlane) was FDA approved in April 2009 for treatment to temporarily improve the appearance of moderate to severe glabella lines in adults younger than 65 yrs old. Dysport® has been used for cosmetic use to treat glabella lines in the United Kingdom since 1991 and is being used in 76 countries for therapeutic use and 27 countries for aesthetic use.

Botox® is approved in 75 countries and is one of the most widely researched medicines in the world. It has been used therapeutically for over 16yrs to treat a variety of medical conditions. In 2002 it was approved by the FDA as Botox® Cosmetic to treat glabellar lines.
